Liam Neeson Won't Be Making Any More Action Movies

Liam Neeson

Starting in 2008 with "Taken", actor Liam Neeson has made a name for himself as a leading man in a number of action movies that have taken over the box office. Each of his roles have a similar storyline that we just can't seem to get enough of: one man, his character, against the world.

Now in his mid-sixties, the actor said he's ready to bow out of roles that have him fighting mobs and faceless villains to focus on more serious roles appropriate for his age.

"They're still throwing serious money at me to do that stuff," Neeson said at the Toronto International Film Festival of potential action roles. "I'm like: 'Guys, I'm sixty-f---ing-five.' Audiences are eventually going to go: 'Come on.'"

The Irish actor, who earned an Oscar nomination for his role in the 1993 film "Schindler's List", is also well-know for his part in Star Wars: Episode 1, Batman Begins and of course, the Taken trilogy. It was late in his career that he started turning towards the action films, a situation he identified as "all a pure accident."

This should come as no surprise to fans, as in 2015 he said that he believed he had two years left doing such roles.

"Maybe two more years. If God spares me and I'm healthy," Neeson said. "But after that, I'll stop (the action) I think."

But don't worry, he's not done just yet! He still has two more action movies coming up and we couldn't be more excited.
