Randy Sanchez

Randall Sanchez III is a second rate shyster of the first degree.

Prior to his start in radio, and just after claiming he invented the siren, Sanchez gained some notoriety as a concert promoter in the mid-west during the early 1970's. His infamous events were largely ill-executed rip offs of major acts, including shows featuring "The Rolling Stomes" and "The Beatle" - an all wind instrument tribute trio dedicated to Ringo Starr. During the 1980's, Sanchez crossed the border, where he quickly moved up the ranks and became leader of a Mexican lime cartel. The entire operation was closed down in 1987 when Sanchez realized that "lime" was not a euphemism for "drugs," but was literally just fruit. This bored Sanchez immediately.

He returned stateside with several species of plants and insects in tow that had not earlier been introduced to the United States landscape. Over the course of about three weeks, these new species caused a major shift in the natural balance of the environment and caused almost immediate extinction of several nationally treasured indigenous creatures, most notably, the stag-moose and the shrub-ox. When asked for comment on this global news story, Sanchez simply responded, "My bad."

In the early 1990's, Sanchez opened up a chain of moderately successful religious themed mall kiosks called "The Immaculate Concessions." It is estimated that his net worth soared to over $1 billion US dollars from that venture. Sanchez decided that with his new found wealth he would return to his true passion - the music industry. On December 31, 1994, he purchased his first two radio stations: WGAS and WGAF in Mobile, Alabama. His programming and managerial tactics caused internal chaos, with the final nail in the coffin being when he flipped the stations format to "SILENCE-FM." His last broadcast was on January 1, 1995 on "The Silence Hour with R. Blanchez Sanchez III." There were no last words spoken. From 2001 to early 2014, Sanchez intermittently napped and made crank calls to local politicians.

WHJY is proud to welcome the newly refreshed, rebooted and remixed Randall Sanchez III to the air waves here in Rhode Island - now known simply as "Randy" Sanchez. In the words of Randy Sanchez: "Listen. Or don't. I don't care. You can go screw yourself. I'm a damn billionaire, hombre."
