The FDA is encouraging pet owners to throw out affected products that can cause liver damage and death.
The FDA is expanding a recall for the pet food provider, Sportmix, after an additional 70 dogs die and 80 more become sick.
While the original recall was issued December 30th due to high levels of aflatoxin, a toxin produced by a type of mold that can grow on corn and other grains used in pet foods, recent discovers by the Missouri Department of Agriculture have found "very high levels of aflatoxin," in additional products.
