Pearl Jam fans have another reason to be excited. Guitarist Stone Gossard has confirmed the band is working on new music.
“We’ve recorded some songs,” he tells Consequence of Sound. “We’re on our way. We’re making music.”
It’s been two years since the band released their last album “Gigaton,” and making music continues to be important to the group. Stone notes, “It’s important for us to maintain that irreverence to songwriting, in terms of like, just throwing rough vocals on, just taking stabs at stuff, trying stuff.”
The band is working with Andrew Watt on their new record. Watt previously worked with Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder on his solo record “Earthlings.”
“We’re psyched,” Stone says. “Andrew is a total character. Really, like immediately, we were writing quickly. Spontaneously,” adding, “So far, so good.”
