King Charles the 3rd is a huge Queen fan. No, not his late mother, we’re talking about the band Queen. In his first New Year’s Honors List the King named Brian May a Knight Bachelor. The elevation means the Queen guitarist can be addressed as “Sir Brian.”

An official statement described May as a “Musician, Astrophysicist and Animal Welfare Advocate” and that the knighthood had been given for “services to Music and to Charity.” May commented: “I will regard the knighthood not so much as a reward, but more as a charge for me to continue to fight for justice – to be a voice for those who have no voice." He was making reference to his animal rescue charity. He added, "I will endeavor to be worthy to be that Knight in Shining Armor.”
