Sum 41 lead singer Deryck Whibley has put an end to rumors that he's joining Linkin Park.

The rumors started when the band's social media said Whibley had an announcement scheduled for today (Wednesday). That happened to be the same day that Linkin Park's mysterious countdown ended, and since Whibley sang with the band at their 2017 tribute show to Chester Bennington, some fans thought they had it all figured out.

However, yesterday Whibley made a post on Sum 41's social media saying that. "I feel the need to dispel some current rumors. It has been brought to my attention that many people think I could be joining a reuniting band. But I just want to say, despite popular belief, I am not joining Oasis... or Linkin Park. Or any other band for that matter."

He added, "I have my own 'tour and book' announcement that I will now move to the end of the week, ahead of our U.S. tour. I do look forward to seeing whatever both these amazing bands do in the future."

Whibley's book, Walking Disaster, will be published on October 8th and he's already posted a handful of appearances in the week after it's out.
