Dan Aykroyd Threatens To Sue Hot Sauce Company

Robert and Rose Powers are either extremely smart or extremely stupid. The British couple owns Bloody Hell Hot Sauce, and they’ve aroused the ire of one Mr. Dan Aykroyd for using a bottle design similar to the one he uses for his Crystal Head Vodka.

The Powers reached out to Aykroyd to discuss a Bloody Mary collaboration. Unfortunately, when he saw their packaging, he sent them a letter threatening to sue them for the bottle design. He not only wants the to stop using it, but to destroy their entire stock on the basis of trademark infringement.

Crystal Head Vodka has made over $55 million dollars in four years. Bloody Hell is only sold in food shops on the Isle of Wight and across the UK. The Powers started their family-run business three years ago and still make their product in their mother-in-law’s kitchen.

The Powers’ attorney, Michael Coyle, thinks that if a suit is filed, his clients can win. And let’s face it – they’ll get nothing but free publicity if Crystal Head decides to sue.
