Liam Gallagher Once Tricked Weezer Into Buying Him A $400 Breakfast

One thing the Gallagher brothers from Oasis never lacked is a willingness to try anything just for a laugh.

If Weezer didn't know this before waving hello to Liam and Noel in a restaurant one morning in Tokyo, they found out by the end of their meal.

Guitarist Brian Bell and front man Rivers Cuomo recalled the encounter in a recent interview with Q104.3 New York's Out of the Box with Jonathan Clarke.

Cuomo was asked about a recent Tweet in which he expressed his hope for an Oasis reunion, when he and Bell began discussing some of their run-ins with the Brit pop titans over the years.

"The first time we were in London, we go to this rehearsal space ... and we passed Oasis in the hallway," Bell said. "We're like, 'Oh my god.' And Liam just goes, 'Buddy Holly! Top tune!' And we've talked about it ever since."

"Another great moment with Liam was when he stiffed Pat [Wilson, drummer] in Tokyo for this $400 breakfast. By sitting at another table in the restaurant, and they all looked at us and gave us this wave. We waved back. And what they said [to the waiter] was, 'Those guys are gonna take care of the bill.' And so we just waved."
