What Your Lungs Look Like with COVID-19

The George Washington University Hospital in DC has released a 3D video of what lungs look like after being infected with COVID-19.

The 3D model is of a 59-year-old male coronavirus patient’s lungs just days after showing no symptoms at all.

Chief of thoracic surgery at George Washington University Hospital, Keith Mortman, was the doctor who cared for this patient.

“This is not a 70, 80-year-old immunosuppressed, diabetic patient...Other than high blood pressure, he has no other significant medical issues. This is a guy who’s minding his own business and gets it.”

The man was ultimately put on life support and had to have all of his blood removed to be oxygenated and returned to his body because the mechanical ventilator by itself wasn't enough.
