Missouri Catering Business Donating to Different Charity Every Day

With the current coronavirus pandemic going on, large scale events, parties and weddings have been postponed for the time being, not only affecting the people throwing the affairs, but also the businesses involved, like caterers. But, one catering company in Macon, Missouri is not only keeping business going, but is helping out a different cause every day.

Noland's Catering in Macon is currently selling to-go dinners two nights a week between the hours of 4pm and 6:30pm, and a portion of their earnings will be donated to a different charity each day.

One of the catering business's owners, Lois Noland, told KTVO of how the idea came about:

"We decided to do this carry-out business, which we thought maybe if we did 50 or 60 meals we would call that a success and it has blown up. So we decided for every hot meal we do, we would contribute a dollar of that, or we would ask our customers to contribute a dollar to that, to some kind of entity that needed help and two dollars from every salad that we do would go towards that. And when people came by to get their meals they were happy to be helpful, they put in extra dollars and just a had a need to help."

Noland's Catering's Facebook page posts every day to reveal which causes are receiving the donations, as well as information about what they do. Their latest donation went to a charity called Ray of Hope, and as explained in their social media post, "They do amazing work and help young families to find their way with encouragement in the form of education, mentoring and diapers! Have you checked how much diapers and formula cost these days?"

They added, "Come let us fix supper for you and part of your $$ will go to help take care of some of Macon's new parents and smallest citizens."
