Rhode Island educational institutions are reacting to the Supreme Court's rejection of affirmative action.
In a statement from the University of Rhode Island, the school says it does not consider race as a deciding factor for admission, and it is reviewing the court's ruling for any possible influence on university programs.
Colleges in the Ocean State say they are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment.
Many College officials throughout the region said they were disappointed by the ruling but not entirely surprised.
