Smithfield Gets One Hit- Wins In LL World Series Opener

Smithfield is moving on in the Little League World Series.

They didn't get their first hit until the fifth inning, but strong pitching by Connor Curtis for a 3-1 Game One win over Nevada.

Curtis went 5 and a third innings, allowed just two hits and struck out 15 on the way to the game one victory.

Smithfield will remain in the Winners Bracket in the double elimination tournament.

Game two will be against Tennessee on Friday.
