A group of Rhode Island lawmakers are calling on the state Department of Transportation to provide what they termed, "regular, comprehensive updates" on repairs to the Washington Bridge.
Eleven representatives and senators whose constituencies are in the East Bay have written RIDOT Director Peter Alviti to highlight the traffic issues residents are facing due to the closure.
The I-195 bridge was closed in December, due to serious structural failures.
Alviti said repairs are expected to last into April, and RIDOT is offering updates on its website.
