RIPTA To Get New CEO After Avedisian Resigns

Rhode Island Public Transit Authority CEO Scott Avedisian resigned on Thursday.

Avedisian had served as head of the agency for six years. His decision followed a not-guilty plea to causing a hit-and-run accident in Warwick on March 27th.

RIDOT Director Peter Alviti, who chairs RIPTA's board says its members must finalize

Avedisian's separation agreement and vote to approve it.

That meeting is expected next Tuesday.
