Man Sentenced For Assault On Postal Carrier

A Providence man has been sentenced for drug trafficking and assaulting a mail carrier.

Thirty-one-year-old Juan Bautista Rosario-Sandoval admitted that he and another person carried out the assault and robbery.

According to court records, Rosario-Sandoval and his accomplice punched the mail carrier and forcibly took a Priority Mail Express package in September of 2021.

Rosario-Sandoval also admitted to receiving several packages of cocaine through the mail.

Rosario-Sandoval has been sentenced to 40 months in federal prison and will face immigration proceedings after his release.
