A Providence school librarian is accused of hitting a student.
A parent reported that her son was assaulted in October at Pleasant View Elementary School.
Fifty-nine-year-old Susan Rizzo allegedly struck the child with an open hand on his back.
Rizzo was suspended for two days and is not allowed to make any contact with students.
She has been charged with simple assault and battery.
