Centurion Asks The State To Help With The Purchase Of Two Hospitals

The nonprofit Centurion Foundation is asking the state for an 18-million-dollar reserve bond to help with the purchase of Roger Williams Medical Center and Fatima Hospital.

According to WPRI-TV News, Centurion President Ben Mingle sent a letter to state officials saying the company has verbal commitments from four investors that total a sufficient amount to close the proposed acquisition of the hospitals from Prospect Medical Holdings.

In the letter, Mingle says each of the investors has stated that their investment is conditioned upon, having the state-funded bond reserve.

Mingle is asking the state to introduce legislation for approving the bond.
