GA Man Pleads Guilty In Multi-State Fraud Scheme Targeting Seniors

A Georgia man has pleaded guilty in Rhode Island federal court for his role in a multi-state fraud scheme targeting seniors.

Patrick Dallas and two co-conspirators ran a wide-ranging lottery and sweepstakes scam that defrauded the victims out of at least a million dollars.

Dallas and the others ran a bogus sweepstakes, telling the victims they won a large sum of money, but they had to provide personal identifying information and pay upfront fees and taxes.

Dallas is scheduled to be sentenced on May 7th.
