Providence Mayor Brett Smiley says in the days following a large snowfall, potholes start to pop up and crews are hard at work filling them in.
The mayor says last year, the city upgraded its equipment to make the pothole repair process faster and more efficient. Anyone who spots a pothole should report it through 311.
On a statewide level, RIDOT says crews are making daily repairs as needed.
The department says once it learns about a pothole on a state road, it's logged into the system so crews can be dispatched to make the repairs.
