A woman is dead after being struck by a vehicle in North Providence.
Police say the victim was walking along Garfield Street near Mineral Spring Avenue when she apparently lost her footing and fell.
Investigators say the driver involved in the crash did not see the woman and ran over her.
Police say the woman's death appears to be a "tragic accident." The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the police investigation.
At this time the driver is not facing charges.
