Scammers have been impersonating a Cranston pastor to target parishioners.
Father William Ledoux of the Holy Apostles Parish says members of the congregation told him they had been receiving messages asking for gift card donations.
The pastor says the bogus e-mails tell parishioners that he needs seven, 200-dollar gift cards from Sephora or Target and it closes with "God bless you."
Father Ledoux says the messages are not from him and he would never e-mail parishioners and ask for gift cards.
