State Senator Proposed Legislation Requiring Anti-Drugging Drink Lids

Rhode Island state Senator Pamela Lauria is proposing legislation requiring bars and nightclubs to offer anti-drugging drink lids to customers.

Lauria says no one should fear being drugged and possibly sexually assaulted because they had a drink at a local establishment.

The bill would give women and men an option to help prevent their drinks from being spiked or roofied, saying it's a low-cost, common-sense measure for a very real risk.

The legislation would allow establishments to charge customers for the drink covers, as long as it is reasonable.
