A janitor at Garden City Elementary School in Cranston has been arrested on drug charges.
Police were called to the school shortly before 10 p.m. Monday for a report of an employee who passed out and when officers arrived, they found 38-year-old Shane Gavin, who allegedly appeared to be under the influence of something.
Police patted Gavin down for safety and discovered suspected cocaine, a credit cards, straws and dollar bills with a white, powdery substance on them.
Gavin was taken to a hospital where he was later arraigned on a drug possession charge.
