Parts Of Rhode Island Under A Heat Advisory Today And Tomorrow

Parts of Rhode Island will be under a Heat Advisory today and tomorrow with heat index values of up to 96-degrees.

The National Weather Service has issued the advisories due in part to the unusual mid-May heat.

The temperatures will be cooler along the coastline thanks to a southwesterly wind.

The Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management has issued an Air Quality Alert from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. today.

An Air Quality Alert Day means that Ground Level Ozone concentrations in the region may approach or exceed unhealthy standards.

Anyone with respiratory issues like asthma, should limit their time outdoors today.
