The Rhode Island Department of Health has implemented a monitoring system for travelers coming from Ebola-impacted countries.
RIDOH says the symptom monitoring is in place for people who were in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Uganda, or South Sudan in the 21 days before arriving in the U.S.
In addition, RIDOH is taking additional preparedness measures out of an abundance of caution.
The measures include sending information to local healthcare professionals about the global situation; preparing patient assessment protocols if Ebola is suspected and coordinating with healthcare partners for the potential management of cases.
