Brown University’s president is stepping down.
On Monday, university president Christina Paxson said she would leave office at the end of the coming academic year.
Paxson will leave after 15 years as the head of Brown; in her letter to the school community, Paxson indicated that a freeze of federal funding by the Trump Administration had been dealt with and that Brown was financially secure.
Paxson succeeded Ruth Simmons in 2012 as the 19th president, since the university’s founding in 1764.
A national search to replace Paxson is planned.
