This is news to me! Apparently Chris Farley was supposed to be Shrek!
The proof? A recent YouTube video (believed to have been leaked by someone who worked on the movie) shows storyboard drawings of the characters while Chris Farley (Shrek) and Eddie Murphy (Donkey) read along.
The explanation behind the video states that Farley had recorded about 90% of his parts before he passed away.
