I was listening to a not-so-good cover of a Fleetwood Mac song the other day and it got me to thinking about cover songs in general. I feel like it’s rare that a band can cover another band’s music well. There are some exceptions, but I think for the most part what we like about a cover song is the nostalgia it brings. Listen to that cover over and over and it may make you think otherwise!
I’ve always felt that Guns N Roses did an amazing job covering Nazareth’s “Hair of the Dog”. I mean, listen to the similarities between Axl Rose and Nazareth’s Dan McCafferty. They’re possibly the only 2 vocalists in history that could sound like each other.
Anyway, on a day when you have nothing else going on, pop in GNR’s “Spaghetti Incident” and rock out to this cover in particular. It’s awesome! As is the rest of the album in my opinion…but that’s open to critical debate!
