It's 2022 and its time has come! Paramedics in jet packs!!!!! (Yes, we needed that many exclamation marks.)
Prior to the pandemic, the UK's Great North Air Ambulance Service was training paramedics to use more than helicopters to get to the scene of emergencies. They were training their EMT's to fly there in jet packs.
In what appears to be a training simulation video, you can see what these heroes can do, and how quickly they can get to a patient with jet packs. What could have taken precious time prior to the use of jet packs may now give more time to paramedics to save lives. And look wicked awesome doing it!
Although this is only something happening in the UK, I think there's no question we could be implementing this technology here in the US.
