This is NOT newly found information. However the story is making the rounds again and why not talk about it?
There is a little-known guitar solo on Pink Floyd's Animals album. But only on the 8-track version. That's because the guitar solo was created to connect Pigs on the Wing Part 1 and Part 2 but only on the 8-track. If you look at whatever version of Animals you have (I've got it on cassette and CD) you may notice that Pigs Part 1 is track #1 and Pigs Part 2 is the final track. On an 8-track, the album will play in a continuous loop. And the band decided to really give the listener a different experience (than the usual click or pause) when switching over.
