Jenn's Mocha Stout Beer Not Just For Drinking!

So our video blog today was about using Jenn’s Mocha Stout from Revival in a beef stew….

PS- for all of you guys there is NOTHING that will get you in a woman’s heart (and panties) better than fixing something awesome in the kitchen!!!!

Here’s the recipe… add or subtract as you want… see if I care!!!

Ingredients

    2 tbsp olive oil

    2.5 lb of beef chuck

    Salt

    Black pepper

    3 garlic cloves , minced

    1 fat onion , chopped

    4 slices of kick-ass bacon

    3 tbsp flour

One can of Jenn’s Mocha Stout from Revival

    4 tbsp tomato paste

    3 cups chicken stock

1 small bag of small red or rainbow potatoes

3 carrots , peeled and cut 1/2" thick pieces

2 large celery stalks , cut into 1" pieces

1 box of mushrooms sliced up

    2 bay leaves

Instructions

Cut the beef into 2" chunks. Pat dry then sprinkle with salt and pepper.

Heat oil in a heavy based pot over high heat. Add beef in batches and brown well all over. Remove into slow cooker.

Remove pot from heat to cool slightly and lower heat to medium. If the pot is looking dry, add oil.

Return pot to heat, add garlic and onion. Cook for 3 minutes until softening, then add bacon.

Cook until bacon is browned then add flour. Stir flour into the mixture.

Add Jenn’s Mocha Stout. Mix well (to ensure flour dissolves well) add in tomato paste, chicken stock and bay leaves, let it simmer then add to the slow cooker.

Set the slow cooker on low for 6-8 hours. Add remaining ingredients as follows:

-Taters one hour after beef went in

-Carrots and celery two hours after yer beef!

-Shrooms one hour before your gonna eat it!
