Went to the XL Center last night to see the first show of their tour. Def Leppard opened up for Journey. I actually thought it was going to be the other way around. But from what I heard, the bands are going to alternate as headliner acts during their tour. They each played for about 1 1/2 hours. Excellent shows. I had seen Journey before with their new lead singer and thought of it as a tribute band, but for some reason, I was more into it this time. He sounded really good.
But Joe Elliot, on the other hand, still can't hit the high notes during Photograph & Rock Of Ages. Other than that, they still put on an awesome show. Joe Elliot said last night's show was the first of 60 shows they're doing in the U.S. 12 songs from Def Lep & 10 songs from Journey.
