We were talking about the late Tom Petty and the release of the American Treasure box set. It wasn't a great look for his widow to talk about how she wasn't motivated by cash and just wanted to get this stuff from the 'vault' out there... but then the price is in the $150 dollar range. Probably not her call as the record company wants to make what it can on one of the few artists who can still generate sales of actual discs as well as downloads.
As some of the descriptions and recordings leak out I feel like, yeah, this was a good thing to do! Will I go out and spend the $150 bucks.... probably not but the tunes and the outtakes make me miss this man so much... I don't think I realized how much I loved Tom Petty until he went up and died on us!!!
(is it too soon to drop hints to my wife about holiday gifts???)
And then they released this video yesterday that has pictures and home movies of our beloved when he was SO YOUNG!!!
Check it out and maybe you too should drop the hint about a holiday gift of Petty... or not be a cheapskate like me and go out and buy the damn thing!
