I am all for having the best team win....so these best of 5 and best of 7 series coming up are good.....
But there is nothing that matches the excitement of the one game winner take all atmosphere of the wildcard games
That game last night between The Cubs and the Rockies went 13 innings....4 hours and 55 minutes....and i didn't want it to end...
Pulling Jon Lester in the 6th for a pinch hitter down 1-0....Pinch running for Anthony Rizzo in the 8th to set up the game tying hit....and, of course, the hug in 11th inning at second base to break up the double play.....
I know it isn't fair to determine a long season on one game...but it is sure fun to watch....
The word is the MLB is considering going to a best of three wild card series.....
Please don't do it....these are teams that lost their divisions....they have done nothing......
not too many years ago they wouldn't have even made the playoffs
So your punishment is you get to take part in the best single day of baseball all year
Sure a World series Game Seven in the best...but a lot of things have to happen to get there
This 1 game match up is by design....that's what makes it special....
Please don't take that away
