"Van Halen" Debut Album Released This Day In 1978

On this date back in 1978 one of the greatest albums EVER was released: Van Halen’s debut LP. Some of the first reviews were rather negative. In 1978, Rolling Stone critic Charles M. Young predicted, "In three years, Van Halen is going to be fat and self-indulgent and disgusting ... follow[ing] Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin right into the toilet. In the meantime, they are likely to be a big deal."

Well, 43 years later it's still the standard for a rock and roll album.
