A bit of a surprise last week when Mick Mars of Motley Crue said he is retiring from touring even after the wildly successful Stadium Tour they did with Def Leppard this year and dates for 2023 are already on the calendar. Mars has been struggling for years with a form of arthritis and he says he’ll still work with the band in the studio but can’t handle the rigors of playing lead guitar on tour. He’s given his blessing to a studio guitarist who goes by the name John 5 to take his place. He’s worked with the band and even co-written some songs so he should fit right in. The stadium tour starts in May of 2023 in Mexico and goes all over Europe next summer. See video of Motley Crue's August Fenway performance of "Wild Side" HERE.
