Def Leppard’s Joe Elliott, who recently had a bout of altitude sickness while on tour in Bogotá, Colombia, wonders if THAT may have contributed to the death there last year of Foo Fighters drummer, Taylor Hawkins.
During one of Def Leppard’s behind-the-scenes videos, he says, “I wonder whether altitude had something to do with Taylor’s death because it’s a bastard. It really is. To do a gig eight-and-a-half million feet above sea level, not easy.” See the video HERE. (Elliott's comments about Hawkins' death come around the 3:30 mark)
And in the autopsy report the coroner stated that Hawkins did have an enlarged heart so that, of course, drugs, and the altitude may all have contributed.
