We love hearing about what music influenced our rock heroes and Sammy Hagar did an interview and talked about the 10 albums that changed his life. It includes old favorites like Cream, the Stones, David Bowie, and Pink Floyd. The one newer band that Hagar put on his list was Tool. He also loved some of the old school soul music as he listed James Brown and Otis Redding as huge inspirations, but the one band that stood out as his biggest influence was the early Jeff Beck Group. As Sammy put it, “Rod Stewart sang the way I wanted to sing and Jeff Beck played guitar the way I wanted to play.” In the below clip from AXS TV's "Rock & Roll Road Trip", Sammy talked about some of his rock heroes with Todd Rundgren and Paul Rodgers. And make SURE to either watch this video to the end, or fast forward to around the 11-minute mark to see a phenomenal duet between Hagar and Rodgers jamming a killer version of Bad Company's "Rock 'n Roll Fantasy"
