Two years after he passed away, the collection of ZZ Top's Dusty Hill went on the auction block and raised millions. The bass player died in his sleep at 72 and his collections went through Julien’s Auctions in his hometown of Dallas. As expected, the items that fetched the most were his vintage bass guitars. One, a Fender Precision bass, went for nearly $400,000 - over three times the pre-auction estimate. It was the second most ever paid for a bass guitar, behind only one owned by Paul McCartney. A portion of the proceeds went to MusiCares, which provides, "a safety net for health care for musicians."
