A lot of rock songs used at both political conventions and an odd choice for the New Jersey delegation at the Democratic event this week... they blared out Springsteen's "Born in the USA"....I guess they forgot about the incident when it first came out and was used by then-President Reagan....the song is all about the negative effects of the Vietnam War on Americans. And at a campaign stop in New Jersey, Reagan said, "America's future rests in a thousand dreams inside your hearts; it rests in the message of hope in songs so many young Americans admire: New Jersey's own Bruce Springsteen and his Born in the USA.... and Bruce wasn't having any of it, first time a rock star told a politician to STOP using my song!
