Led Zeppelin should plead guilty and get this "Stairway" burden off their back!
If you missed it, Page and Plant are going BACK to court! An appeals court has over-ruled the previous court decision in Zeppelin's favor, faulting how the judge ran the trial in favor of Page and Plant.
If you listen below there is a shocking similarity to the Spirit song "Taurus" (listen at :45 seconds in). A few good reasons that the Zep boys should settle out of court:
A) The riff clearly sounds like they took it for Stairway to Heaven.
B) Page and Plant have had to settle on at least three songs that were blatant ripoffs from blues classics from Willie Dixon, Muddy Waters and Howlin' Wolf. (they DID credit some blues authors but others they took credit and have had to pay the price in court).
C) Page and Plant's legacy and bank accounts are set for eternity. We will think nothing less of these rock gods if they pay a million or two just to make the lawyers for Spirit go away. We will STILL LOVE YOU BOYS!!! SETTLE!!!!
