The Marcus Smart Play Against Steph Curry Was NOT Dirty

Boston Celtics v Golden State Warriors

I have never been the biggest Marcus Smart fan. He does play with passion, I'll give him that. Over the years, great defense, but too many shots... too many misses. But this year he has been really good. His defense is elite, and his offense is getting better... more efficient. He had 20 points last night on 8-12 shooting and 8 assists.

Late in the first half Smart dove for a loose ball and landed on Steph Curry's leg. Warrior's coach Steve Kerr called it a dangerous play. He and Smart had a verbal confrontation. All I see is a hustle play, diving for a loose ball. Unfortunately Curry's ankle got in the way.

Dangerous play? If Curry went to the floor like Smart did, he would have been fine. By being half in and half out he left himself exposed to injury.

I've complained about Marcus Smart plenty of times over the years. Not this year... and most certainly, not last night.
