You Can't Have It Both Ways, Kyrie. I'm Done With You

I'm done with Kyrie.

Can't have it both ways. Can't crush Boston by word and deed and then tell everyone it is all about basketball.

You can't....

  > Spread incense around the court at The Garden to ward off the evil spirits

  > Stomp on Lucky at midcourt at The Garden

  > Chuck the bird at C's fans

  > Chuck the behind the head double bird...the worst bird of all...at C's fans

And then tell them this isn't about the fans, it's about basketball.

Brooklyn Nets v Boston Celtics - Game One

BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS - APRIL 17: Kyrie Irving #11 of the Brooklyn Nets dribbles downcourt against Jaylen Brown #7 of the Boston Celtics during the first quarter of Round 1 Game 1 of the 2022 NBA Eastern Conference Playoffs at TD Garden on April 17, 2022 in Boston, Massachusetts. You can't promise Celtics fans you are signing up long term while on The Garden floor at a season ticket holder event and then leave town to meet KD in Brooklyn and form your superteam and then act surprised when Celtics fans hate you.

You want to play the role of the villain?

Go right ahead...

Villains are fun in sports. You hate us and we hate you.

We've had some good ones:

Bill Laimbeer, Andrew Toney, Isiah Thomas (the first one), Manny Machado, ARod...

Those guys all played by the rules - a good clean Hate/Hate relationship.

With you, Kyrie, it's different. You make it all about the fans and the city and the building.

And then when someone challenges you on it, you hide behind that line about it only being about the players and the game.

Game 1 you were off the charts - 39 points...18 in the fourth quarter....nearly won the game for the Nets....

But you didn't win. You lost by one.

If you are unsure how many points you lost by, just ask any Celtics fan. I'm sure they will be glad to raise one finger in your direction.
