Maybe it's just my ridiculous Facebook friends....I hope so....but I keep seeing these posts about how much better the 1985-86 Celtics are compared to the 2021-22 edition...
What does that even mean?
For my money, the 85-86 Celtics is the best team in NBA history....
Are you trying to tell me that this year's team who was struggling at .500 around New Year's before their big turnaround, isn't quite as good as the team with Bird, McHale and Parrish...... and DJ and Walton as well....

Save your comparisons for 4-5 years when the key current guys are in their prime....

You might say, well Walton's 34 years and injuries make him past his prime....I agree...and Al Horford's 36 years puts him past his prime....
85-86 Hall of Famers....Bird/Walton/DJ/McHale/Parish...all in....4 out of 5 playing at that level that season....
21-22 Hall of Famers....Projected...Tatum.....maybe Brown...maybe... long way to go on both...it's a very high bar and no guarantee.....no one else from this year's team in contention down the road..
