Hall of Fame Career… All Star Speech

David Ortiz is a first ballot Hall of Famer and rightfully so…..

First DH to get in the first time around….ever….

I was looking forward to his Cooperstown speech…..

It is Papi….bigger than life….no setting is too big…..

His acceptance speech on Sunday was good….not great….

It was a solid 7 out of 10….maybe even an 8 …but no higher than that….

He thanked everyone he needed to ….and paid tribute to Boston….

I just wanted a few more baseball stories…..

A good Manny story?….a little more on Pedro?…Johnny Damon?

He thanked Terry Francona…..a Tito story would’ve been cool….

It lasted 18 minutes…seemed to go by fast….

I would’ve liked 23….

Keep all of the 18 in and add 5 minutes of the inside stuff

All in all ….a passing grade…..solid speech….

A standup double off the Green Monster…

But from Papi I was looking forward to a walk off home run
