New York Will Award 1st Weed Licenses to Those Convicted of Cannabis Crimes

If you've spent time behind bars for an offense that is now something your state plans to legalize, you might be a bit miffed. Alright, you're probably pretty enraged.

Think about it. You get caught with some weed. You're thrown in jail. You have legal fees to pay. You have fines to pay. You have a CONVICTION on your record. How do you get a job? How do you get a loan? Your life is literally thrown into a tailspin over marijuana! And now, the state that tossed you in jail is LEGALIZING it?

Well New York State has a plan to try to help right the wrongs. And they're going beyond expungement.

Could this help turn around the lives of those people who spent time behind bars or their families? Possibly. Assuming the have the capital to fund a shop/dispensary.
