As you no doubt heard, Yacht Rock legend Jimmy Buffet died over the weekend from a rare and aggressive form of skin cancer. His very last performance was right here in Rhode Island as he made a surprise guest appearance onstage in Portsmouth with his friend and member of his band Mac McAnally. Several rock stars posted long and detailed social posts about Buffet, including Paul McCartney, who said he always admired his songwriting and humor. And Sammy Hagar posted this: "The first time I met Jimmy he said, 'Oh, you're the guy that's trying to get my job.” And Hagar responded, "Of course, we all want to be you.’" Jimmy Buffet was 76 years old.
