Sammy Hagar Discusses Song Inspired By Dream About Eddie Van Halen

Sammy Hagar has released a song that we debuted this morning on 94 HJY that he'd written and recorded as a tribute to Eddie Van Halen called, "Encore, Thank You, Goodnight".

Featuring his Best of All Worlds tour band - bassist Michael Anthony, guitarist Joe Satriani, and drummer Kenny Aronoff - Hagar said he was inspired to write the song by a dream he had in 2022 where he and Eddie discussed writing a song together, with Eddie even playing him a guitar lick. Hagar wrote it the next day and shared the lick with Satriani, who's credited as co-writer.
