Bust of Doors' Jim Morrison Stolen from Tomb in '88 Finally Recovered

The marble graffiti-covered bust of late Doors' frontman Jim Morrison that sat atop his tombstone until it was stolen in 1988 has finally been recovered by French police while they were investigating an unrelated fraud case. 

It's not yet known who stole it or whether it will be returned to the grave at Paris’ Père-Lachaise. Check out the announcement post of the recovery HERE.

The sculpture was done by Croatian artist Mladen Mikulin and was unveiled in 1981 on the 10th anniversary of Morrison's death. 

Morrison died in Paris in 1971 at the age of 27.
